Viewing Your Tip Summary in the Teamwork Mobile App (Beta)

Audience: Employees using the Teamwork Classic mobile app

Status: Beta

Overview

The Teamwork mobile app now includes a redesigned Tip Summary that makes it easier to see your earned tips at a glance. You no longer need to wait for your manager to break it down — the summary shows what you earned, what was tipped out, and what you can expect to take home.

This is a Beta release. The basic view is live for all mobile users today, with more detail and refinement coming in future updates.

What You'll See

When you open the Tip Summary, you'll see three key numbers for the current pay period:

  • Take-home tips before taxes — the total tips you're owed for the pay period
  • Total hours worked
  • Tips generated before tip-out (visible when you tap into the detail view)

Daily breakdown

Tapping into a day shows:

  • Tips generated — tips you brought in before any tip-out
  • Take-home tips before taxes — what ends up on your check for that day

If the two numbers match, it means no tip-out was applied that day. If a tip-out was applied (for example, $20 on a Tuesday), you'll see the input and the adjusted take-home side by side.

Empty states

If tips haven't been processed yet for a given day or pay period, you'll see an empty state rather than a zero. This means the data is on its way, not that you earned nothing.

Why It Looks Different

The previous tip summary on mobile was difficult to read and often left employees unsure of what they had actually earned. The redesigned view is built for mobile first and shows your inputs (tips generated) and outputs (take-home) clearly.

Beta Notes

You'll see a Beta tag next to the Tip Summary. That's intentional. It means:

  • The page is live and available to everyone
  • We're actively working on deeper calculation detail in future releases
  • Your feedback is welcome and will shape what comes next

Troubleshooting

My tips show as empty for a day I worked.Tips may not yet be processed for that day. Check back after your manager has closed out the period.

The numbers don't match what I expected.Tap into the day to see whether a tip-out was applied. If something still looks off, let your manager know so they can review it with support.
